About Us
The New Brunswick Climate Change Hub was formed in 2001, as part of a national network of Hubs, funded by the Federal and Provincial Governments, and is hosted by the New Brunswick Lung Association. We facilitate the exchange of ideas, information and resources between three levels of government, private sector, and community-based organizations engaged in public education and outreach. We conduct community outreach to engage leaders, build the capacity of municipal governments, community groups, business, and academia to address climate change.
Our goal is to increase awareness about the causes and consequences of climate change, and what individuals, communities, and corporate entities can do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to inevitable impacts, and create a sustainable, low-carbon society.
The Hub maintains an office space at the Victoria Health Centre, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The Hub’s multistakeholder Advisory Committee meets twice a year to discuss barriers & opportunities, share best practices, inform policy dialogue, and promote New Brunswick’s leadership in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The New Brunswick Climate Change Hub addresses the growing concerns over climate change, air pollution, and human health. We also maintain a website, newsletter and clearinghouse services, available to the general public.
